Aplicación permite dar mejor uso a los suelos de Costa Rica

“CR Suelos” es una nueva aplicación para móviles que permite tener un mejor conocimiento de los suelos de Costa Rica para que, al usarlos, se evite su degradación.

Su principal público meta son los agricultores nacionales y las personas dedicadas a distintas disciplinas como agronomía, zootecnia y biología, entre otras.

La herramienta fue desarrollada en la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) e impulsada por la Asociación Costarricense de la Ciencia del Suelo (Accs) y el Instituto Nacional de Innovación y Transferencia de Tecnología Agropecuaria (Inta) del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería.

Entre la información que se puede obtener resalta:
– La ubicación en datos de latitud y longitud.
– El nombre del suelo por orden y suborden.
– Las características químicas, físicas y biológicas de la finca.

“Lo cual es conveniente conocer antes de la siembra, ya que el crecimiento y desarrollo de los cultivos y la calidad y cantidad de cosechas, están en relación directa con los nutrimentos y características de los suelos, informó la UCR.

La aplicación ya está disponible para sistemas operativos Android y iOS. Esta es completamente gratuita y se puede descargar con tan solo escribir en el buscados “CR Suelos”.

Esta herramienta se venía desarrollando desde hace años pero no se lanzó sino hasta que se obtuvo el apoyo del Sistema Internacional de Suelos para América Latina (Sislac) patrocinada por la FAO y en el marco de las acciones de Alianza Mundial por el Suelo (AMS).
